Project 04 / Unbuilt concept study

Stillwater.

Low horizontal forms and a measured sequence of arrival create a quieter hospitality setting.

Architecture / Hospitality

The intention

A slower sequence of arrival.

How can arrival set a slower pace while separating shared and private spaces?

Stillwater is shaped by a gradual movement from landscape to shelter. Low volumes hold the horizon, while planted thresholds make the journey through the site part of the experience.

The shared spaces are open to the outlook; the private rooms turn towards smaller, quieter pieces of landscape. The distinction is felt through scale, light and enclosure.

A restrained material language connects the different spaces. Texture and shadow create variation, allowing the architecture to remain calm.
